This is an exciting time for our school district and community! On May 14, 2011, voters in our community overwhelmingly supported a $55 million bond election to fund new and renovated school facilities.
Specifically, the bond program includes:

The bond will address:

• a new elementary school to replace Kilgore Heights Elementary;
• a new middle school to replace Maude Laird Middle School;
• renovations to Chandler Elementary; and,
• additions and renovations to Kilgore Intermediate School.

We have developed this website to help keep our residents informed about our bond projects in design and construction. On it, you will find design presentations, cost and schedule information, construction photos and construction reports as we move through the various phases of our bond program. We encourage you to visit this website frequently as new information will be posted regularly.

Update: The ground breaking for the new KISD Elementary and Middle Schools was held on Tuesday, March 6th at 3:00 p.m. at the property on Baughman Road.
